Explain a situation that required you to utilize Critical Thinking skills in your community service activity. How did you resolve the problem?
When recalling stations, I have had to use my critical thinking skills. I think I am called back to a disruption between my siblings and me. While these disrupts seem cinque as many struggle with siblings, it is often forgotten that it has the basis for critical thinking. In this experience, my siblings and I went to the mall, and throughout the time, two of my siblings were not having a delightful time. This caused an argument between the six of us, and I realized the actual problem. Using my critical thinking skills, I asked both of my annoyed siblings if they would like to take some time alone to calm themselves, reflect, and decide on what it is that would make this experience better for them Further, I asked my other siblings to step away and continue to have a good time. After a while of thinking, the actual issue appeared to be the amount of time we spent in each store. I acknowledged the feelings of both of my siblings to ensure they felt heard and validated while suggesting to them that when they’re tired of being in a spot, they let me know so they don’t have to go anywhere alone. Using these skills, I ensured everyone felt heard, understood, and appreciated without having to escalate the problem to further means. However, I think there is much to reflect on, such as how I could have chosen to act instead of trying to meet them with grace and kindness. I am happy to be reflective and analyze the situation.
