I thought it was great! I loved it.

Good Afternoon,
I just wanted to let you know that I got your message about how I applied what I learned from the Teamwork session. I recently volunteered at the AASD festival through the ASL club. I applied what I learned by working with my fellow volunteers to monitor the inflatables and ensure the children’s safety. I liked that I was able to communicate clearly and converse with my fellow volunteers. There wasn't anything that I didn’t enjoy.

Last year, a community service project I participated in was focused on saving trees. We were tasked with removing an invasive plant species that was choking out the native species and threatening the local ecosystem. We split into smaller groups, each responsible for removing the invasive species; some hauled the debris away while others removed the species. I liked the teamwork we developed as we worked together. I had not known anyone there, so I was pleased to meet new people and make new friends. However, a moment I disliked was the lack of communication, which led to many duplicated efforts. I realized how important communicating with the team is so that everyone is on the same page and inefficiencies are more accessible to avoid.
I really enjoyed the germs that were dropped in this secure the bag meeting
A quote that stuck with me was if you want to go fast go alone if you want to go Fargo together as I have matriculated through college, I have seen how having community around you really helps to better your overall experience and it’s nice to be able to have people to lean on when you feel like you’re alone.

Thanks so much for that fabulous company idea. Are you in the Cosmetic Science program and/or have you attended any of the events with Estee Lauder Companies? However, you have to follow the directions as outlined in the email. I am a computer science major though I have attended events with Estée Lauder companies. In the Zoom workshop, where we created the skincare company “Mary & Christian Glow,” I learned how essential teamwork is for achieving a shared goal, especially when time is limited. I applied these lessons during a community service activity, a sandwich run, where a group of us made sandwiches to give out to the homeless. Similar to the workshop, we had to work quickly and efficiently, assigning different tasks like preparing ingredients, assembling sandwiches, and packing them for distribution. I liked how smoothly we worked together, with each person taking responsibility for different parts of the process, making the work more enjoyable and efficient. However, just like in the workshop, the time constraints were a bit of a challenge. We had a limited amount of time to prepare everything, and I wish we had been able to make even more sandwiches. Still, the experience reinforced the importance of communication and teamwork when working towards a goal that benefits others. |
I really love these seminars because they help me enhance professional skills.

Thanks Mia. However, you must apply what you learned from the workshop to a community service activity you’ve completed and respond to the prompt. Describe something you did while performing your community service that required teamwork. What did you like? What did you dislike?
