Being part of Paws With Purpose gave me the chance to serve at Ariel Bowen Memorial United Methodist Church, one of only two churches in the United States named after a woman - and notably an African American woman. Our group completed several tasks including moving furniture, dusting pews, wiping tables, organizing shelves, sweeping floors, and mowing the lawn. These efforts helped preserve the church’s welcoming environment and honor its historical significance. This experience opened my eyes to Atlanta’s deep roots and diverse cultures that are often overlooked. It also reminded me how acts of service connect us to the past while strengthening the present community.
This was a great opportunity to help clean up the park while bonding with friends!
I would do it again, and now I know a new place to go ride my bike.
