It’s always a great experience volunteering at the Leadville 100. I worked traffic control in the morning at the start and then went to the bottom of Power line for traffic control. It was fun cheering on the athletes as they came through our area.
I had a lot of fun volunteering with the other volunteers that I hiked up to Hope Pass with.We became friends, and exchanged contact info because we hoping we get into the race next to run it . And are going to stay in contact with each other. It was nice to help the runners out as they came into the aid station, they were very grateful.
I always love giving back. Two things could improve the Aid Station, IMO. Have some of the volunteers show up at 7:30. I showed up at 7:30 and they were plenty of things to do to get the Aud Station ready. Also, I think it’s a good idea for Aid Station Medical crees to have some foam rollers on hand to help runners loosen up tight body parts. I brought mine for the first shift, but they left when I left at 3:30pm. Otherwise, I love volunteering at Twin Lakes.
Great time. So happy to be there to help the runners.
Amazing time!
