The charity event was an amazing experience. I enjoyed connecting with my Cobb County community and my KSU classmates. I also appreciated doing work that I was able to directly see the effects of. After we finished organizing the center and cleaning it up, I got to see some of the families coming to get some of the clothes and food.
Everything went smoothly; the bus ride over, the experience at the school, and the bus ride home. I felt comfortable for the entire OwlsServe Day event. The only issue that I ran into was with parking. I thankfully did not get ticketed, but I had to park in a lot that, in different circumstances, may have resulted in such. Hopefully, in the future, the school can account for those students coming to volunteer despite not having parking passes for the semester.
Overall, I deeply appreciated the experience. I have not done anything quite like it before, and it has certainly motivated me to look into doing more things like it.
