I helped out by organizing the gently used clothes for the customers to able to shop more easily. This included making sure all clothes were neatly on the racks, pillow cases and bed sheets matched and each pair of shoes had its pair. In addition, towards the end of the hour, I helped load everything up for the end of the day.

The conservation of resources, such as electricity and water, is a high belief I withhold because of the benefit it brings to the planet. The same idea of conservation can also be true for clothing, which is why I was glad to help out the University of Texas Campus Environmental Center in the Trash to Treasure Sale. The turnout for the event was better than I had expected as several individuals seemed eager to purchase gently used items for only a dollar. Although my part in the event was simply organizing the shoes, I feel that I still made a pretty good impact considering it helped buyers search for shoes.

Participating in the Trash to Treasure sale was overall really enjoyable. It was great to be a part of recycling and reusing things as opposed to seeing them being thrown away. Also, it was super awesome to see the smiles that light up people's faces when I told them that everything was one dollar. (:

Volumteering here was an enjoyable experience. It felt great I was making an impact on the community and on myself.
