Supports attorney with form filling, copying documents, filling out paperwork, filling out forms on computer

This position is fluid, depending on the supervision/collaboration style of the attorney volunteer at your table.  You may be asked to take notes, fill in forms, make copies or print evidence, or other miscellaneous tasks. Be ready for anything, and don’t be afraid to make suggestions or corrections. One of your main roles will be to help listen to a client’s story and processes facts relevant to their TPS eligibility. Your other main role will be to help with logistics of application preparation; if there are several members of a family, you may be able to help by organizing evidence or filling out forms while the attorney takes the lead on the legal conversation.  Being bilingual is a plus, but not necessary.  No legal training is necessary because volunteer teams will be led by licensed attorneys. 

Volunteers in this role should be at least 18 years old. 

Plan to start first thing in the morning and stay until your table is finished for the day (may be finished before 5pm).

If your volunteer shift begins in the morning, please plan to arrive no later than 8:15 so that we can begin a volunteer orientation right at 8:30.
