As a Bike Course Volunteer, you will maintain a very active and involved role within the race, which ultimately involves cycling (you must bring a bicycle and helmet) alongside competing athletes to maintain, monitor, and/or direct traffic and safety along the bike course. All bike course cyclists will be briefed as a group on race morning from either the bike or run course director and/or race director concerning details on the course, as well as important safety information. Bike course cyclists will communicate with the bike or run course director and/or race director if any safety concerns need to be addressed during the active race. Additionally, bike course cyclists are allowed to physically assist athletes for mechanical issues (such as a flat tire, help with a fallen chain, etc).
