I joined this jeopardy game on academic integrity hosted by Ms. Venessa McKinney and it was amazing. I came third, tied with another player. It was really engaging and also educational as while we are answering the questions/prompts, we are also learning more about academic integrity and how to keep our integrity while getting our degrees by being honest, fair, trustworthy, and responsible.

This session was very helpful in understanding and pointing out factors such as stress, burnout, and the pressure to succeed while completing school. This session also made me realize that I am currently experiencing burnout and is pushing myself very hard which can lead to physical, emotional, and mental burnout. I also learned that being hard on myself isn't motivation but me acting as my own bully. Overall, the session was very relatable and insightful, Mr. Michael Barnette gave a wonderful presentation.
In this GivePulse session, I learned about the difference between. AA,AS, and AAS degrees. I also learned that the AAS degree is not transferable to a bachelor's degree. However both AA and AS are. The moderators, Mr. Fransisco Obregon and Ms. Lundi Carter effectively explained how each degrees type differ i eligibility for transfer and workforce and that completion times differ for each degree type and student. They also gave us resources such O*NET OnLine to read more into our career interests.
In today's session hosted by Career Specialist, Debby Curry, I was introduced to NACE Competencies. This session was very informative and interactive as she discussed skills vs competencies, taught us the NACE competencies, analyzed workplace scenarios in breakout rooms, and she allowed us to reflect on our personal strengths and growth areas. Overall, I learned a lot from this meeting and I will definitely be joining more!
This experience was very fun and entertaining. It was absolutely great to watch other students perform, have a great laugh, and network with each other.
On Friday, September 25th I joined a Zoom tutoring session for Biology given that I was not grasping the Chemistry aspect of it. Thankfully, Professor Danil Hammoudi, my tutor for the day, effectively explained the concepts and I now have a better understanding of it.
This college transfer fair was a pretty good experience. I learned about a few colleges that I would consider attending, including Bowie State, Morgan State, and Stevenson University. I was also able to ask college representatives about the process of applying to their Nursing programs through the Rn to BSN pathway. Since I plan to pursue nursing and get my associate degree first, it was helpful to learn more about my options for continuing my education after completing my associate degree. The representatives from each college gave clear and direct explanations of the application process, which helped me better understand what to expect.
Today at the GivePulse Demo Training, Mr. Elio Cruz provided instruction on how to register for events via GivePulse and he that in the case of getting hours, we should try to get a little over the required 15 hours of a dispute. I also learned and was told as Ms. Sharber put emphasis on not using the clock in and clock out feature on GivePulse. Whatever I had missed about GivePulse at the orientation was mentioned in the session and was very helpful to solving the problems I was facing with the website.
In this Career Readiness Success Workshop presented by career specialist, Debby Curry, very informative material was given to allow us to think about our own unique interests, passions, and experiences outside of academics. I learned a lot from today's workshop, a few things include navigating my career journey with confidence with career literacy and that I should take action to gain experience, grow my network, and build my future. Overall, it was amazing especially using tools such as finding our IKIGAI (a Japaneese concept that means "a reason for being"). This experience was very amazing, I will definitely be joining the next one!
This virtual game show was amazing! It was very interactive and the prizes included were awesome. After a few rounds of playing pick a color bag, individuals (including myself) were winning prize commodities. Some won a pair of airpods, an Ipad, money, and for me, I won a 50" Samsung TV. The experience was great I would rate it a 10/10 and recommend others to join when another one is being held.
