got some invasive plant work done with 3 additional volunteers and saw some interesting plants and wildlife, including bundle flower, basket flower, what I think was a 2 spotted longhorn bee, great blue heron, 2 rabbits, and more! Appreciated a consult and help from Cliff to deal with a tight bark connection on a multi-trunk ligustrum.

hot...but saw bumble bees! so glad there are some still around after not seeing any for a while.
Doing good with friends is always a pleasure. Ligustrum lassoin' invasive plant management is needed work and we are making progress under Community Activated Park Project 411. Disappointing to find a dumped large screen TV when we now have bulk pick up on demand (Thank you City of Austin!)-hope the word gets out to everyone. THANK YOU! to the hard working volunteers today that helped with TV and ligustrum management.
delighted to meet and chat with a couple of volunteer gardeners early during session when not much bee action happening yet and before the garden shut down for an event. walked the gardens, the garden by the "bathroom" (always a hotspot for bees for me), the lake trail, some of the creek trail, and meadow loop and out along the garden. It's a hot one as morning went away and time went fast as always.
nice cool misty rain, but not good for seeing any bees! offset by seeing a hawk, hummingbird and hearing frog chorus.
cool morning for lately anyways for working on invasive plants/ligustrum with Friends of Copperfield Nature Trails
whew! it was hot today, so limited myself to 1 hour. Bees moving around so fast today! rarely rested for long enough for me to get a good photo. Herb gardens and riparian area seemed most bee friendly today during my monitoring time. posted to iNat for ID.
making progress on community activated park project 411 invasive plants and enjoying time with friends while doing it.
