    Bryker Woods Elementary School Urban Forest Grant Planting Day!

    I planted and mulched trees at the school. It was hard work, but very satisfying. It was nice to see the finished product & knowing that I helped prevent erosion and beautify the school was a plus.

    PIES - Green Storm H2O Conservation

    I learned a significant amount about how to collect, store, and filter rainwater for both myself & the environment. We learned about creation of rain gardens, along with water tank storage & viewed the exterior of the building and made recommendations for implementing these tactics on the property to reduce pollution of the nearby creek.

    UT Microfarm Learning Sessions

    I learned a significant amount about the necessary procedures of maintaining a community garden. It was a good experience that allowed me to get insight on practices regarding sustainability and small scale farming.

    I volunteered with Texas UNICEF at the Walk to End Lupus Now. I learned a lot about the disease and helped direct both traffic and runners throughout the morning. I had a fun time helping out with an event with such a great cause!
