I helped prepare small packages for the homeless community of Austin. The bags consisted of useful things such as toothbrushes, razors, socks, and other things that could be of help. I really enjoyed the event because it was for a good cause and allowed me to converse with other ULN students in the process.

It was my first time at the Concho Garden and it was a very good experience. I learned a little bit about the history of the garden as well as its objectives. The work I participated in consisted of shoveling rich soil to another location in the garden, while at the same time leveling out the ground. We then placed cardboard on top of the soil and added mulch on top afterwards. I enjoyed the event and would most likely take part in it again.
I wrote a letter to the Iron Rakkasan regiment while hanging out with other ULN students. The cookies were also delicious.
Overall, volunteering for the Blacklight Run was a great experience. Although the weather was harsh at times, it was still very fun and enjoyable. During my first shift I helped hand out the appropriate sized t-shirts to the participants who were picking up their race packets. During my second shift, I helped in handing out "glow packs" to the runners as they passed the finish line. At the end of the event I helped move boxes full of supplies back to the moving trucks. It was a nice experience and it was great seeing the race itself with everyone splattered with color, running and glowing under the blacklights.
