I volunteered at the internship fair, which gave the opportunity for ULN '19 to discover and hopefully network with the on-campus partners so that they may be accepted into their internship programs. Being placed at the check-in, I got to interact with the students coming in, making sure that they should be relaxed because the staff are just people too. I enjoyed seeing my mentees present and would like to be on the other end of the conversation, hopefully tabling with the staff next year.

Jessica, my co-mentor, and I chose this volunteer opportunity as our group event with our small session mentees. I enjoyed this event because I got to appreciate the beauty of the creek as we moved up, cleaning all of the garbage we could reach. Most importantly, I felt this event helped me connect with the other students as we traveled as one unit through the fairly "tough" terrain. I would definitely love to volunteer again for these kind of event as it was a great way to help and connect with the ULN community.
Although it was small, I enjoyed helping out my friend's workplace in selling, distributing, and transporting their flowers. The flowers are golden and symbolize good luck as this was for the Vietnamese New year's festival, Tet. I wish that the event could've taken place at the Cedar Ridge high school like years before as it was very cramped at the new location, but overall it was a great time seeing the Vietnamese community.
Although finding my way there was extremely misleading and difficult, it was an amazing experience. I volunteered at one of the stops along the trail called "candyland", dressing up as an elf, giving candy away, and directing the traffic within the tent. It was a nice way to forget about school and enjoy the Christmas spirit.
It was an entertaining and active way to make a difference on campus. Running around, turning off the lights/electronic devices, and posting our actions on social media was an effective way to get the word out about energy conservation. I believe this event sends a strong message about how we should limit ourselves with our daily usage of electricity.
