I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for one of their build days. We were finishing up a house in a neighborhood that consists of a lot of Habitat homes. It was amazing to see so many people come out and work together to help a family achieve their dream of getting a home.

For the past five weeks, I have been volunteering with the VICTORY Tutorial Program every Monday from 4-5 PM. This program is on a volunteer basis and during my time, I go to the Southeast Branch Library and tutor a 9th grade student named Frankie. Most weeks we work on biology but have recently been preparing for the English STAAR test. I truly enjoy this volunteering experience because I get to help a student enhance their love for learning. I look forward to the moment when he tells me he really understands the material and that he appreciates my help. This is a very rewarding experience and I plan to continue tutoring for the rest of the semester.
I volunteered at the Road Share Cycle Ride benefitting the Special Olympics. Part of my duties involved setting up the signs for the bikers on the 60 mile course. Additionally, I prepared and served food to the bikers and the guests that attended. This race raised money for the Special Olympics program and I was able to talk with the coordinator about the program and all of the other events that they host to benefit the Special Olympics. When I was serving food I also met a few of the cyclists who had family members that compete in the Special Olympics and it was really inspiring to hear them talk about. I truly enjoyed this volunteering experience and hope to do more with this organization in the future.
I have always enjoyed my experiences volunteering at the Concho Community Garden. Being able to work outside on various projects benefitting others and the environment is extremely rewarding to me.
I loved this event because it gave me the opportunity to thank the soldiers who are fighting to protect us every day. I also really enjoyed the fact that both cohorts of ULN were able to come together in one event.
I enjoyed volunteering at the Concho Community Garden and it was really inspiring to see so any of us helping to maintain something for others. As an environmental science major, I found this experience especially fun and I plan to volunteer here again.
ULN Mentor Group Project-Tree Bombing
My small group and I went to plant 50 trees at Auditorium Shores. We did this as the sun was setting and it was beautiful! It was amazing to see so many people come together to plant these trees.
I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering here. It is a wonderful feeling to get to help others selflessly while at the same time getting to work outside. I plan to volunteer here again next semester.
