we got into groups and traveled to different Buildings around campus to turn lights off. Our group was assigned PAT building, but we were not able to turn off many lights because there students conducting research.
Project Hook Up allowed me to communicate with prospective UT students and ask them if they had any questions about coming to UT or being a student here. Also, I was able to contact students to let them know that they could be longhorns for a day by attending the event at UT.
I participated in Longhorn Monday and was able to direct visitors to their given location. I stood out in front of the west mall and redirected prospective students and their parents. This allowed me to interact, and share my experiences, with those who wish to be freshman next fall. It was a good day but it was really sunny outside!
During this event I was able to work with a group of four other individuals who worked collectively to save energy all around campus. We were responsible for going to the RLM and turning off any lights, projectors, or other electronic usages that were left on. It was nice to give back to UT!
