This was a great week to not only bond with my n-sisters, but to also work alongside them to make this week enjoyable for everyone. It was a great experience and something that I'll love to do again when the opportunity arises.

On Halloween night, House of Essance participated in the TrunkaPalooza event at the Oxford Church of the Nazarene. We passed out candy to the children and families of the Oxford community. Not only was it a fun experience to make other people’s holiday enjoyable but it was a great way for the org to bond and work together.

During my time volunteering with the Beech Community Services, I learned a lot about myself as well as my community. It honestly was one of the best experiences that I’ve had in my life. Not only was I able to meet individuals from all walks of life but had the privilege of collaborating and working alongside of like minded people who all wanted to achieve the same goal. Ms. Christine Brown has been my mentor since 2017, and has taught me what it truly means to give back. The lessons and talks that she’s given me over the years are things that I carry with me on the daily. Without the help of the Beech Foundation and Christine Brown, I wouldn’t be in the position that I’m in today. It has been an honor to have a mentor who embodies true philanthropy and volunteerism. The Beech family has truly become my second family.
