It has been awhile since I volunteered for Pride and I look forward to it every time! Despite the weather, I still had fun helping everyone, and enjoyed the energy, see you guys next year!
This is a nice group! Their whole thing is using recyclables and making them into arts and crafts, how neat! I made flowers out of empty toilet paper rolls for them to display. The girls were very nice and talented. Honestly the entire expo was awesome, I’ll definitely have to come back next year, they had a hair school section where I got my hair done for free!
I volunteered to help the Latin American Association to with their Fighting Food Insecurity program in their food pantry. I helped bag food for low income Latin American families, and talked with students from other campuses. This was my first time helping a community outside of my own and I enjoyed it. I will definitely volunteer for this again!
This was my first experience with helping a food bank and I would love to do it again. Everyone was very friendly, I met other college students who were also volunteering, and it felt like I was making a real impact. This particular food bank services patients at Grady who have hypertension and certain dietary restrictions, which is really neat! I wish I could’ve stayed the whole time, I really enjoyed this.
This was a nice event! Very few people talk about how immigration issues impact black people, and this was very informative! I hope the person who receives my postcard continues to have hope for a better future. I would definitely love to attend this event again and volunteer more with this organization in the new year!
