I was able to donate 3 bras to our bra donation drive and packaging event in collaboration with MAPS. I was also able to table for 1 hour!
I was able to see mentee after a while because of testing and field trips. I brought her chick-fil-a and we ate lunch together. I got to watch the class do another lab. Lastly, we celebrated her achieving her Map Testing goals.
I was able to donate to the Carrying Hope Donation Drive in support of youth in foster care through a collaboration with the Center for Children & Young Adults and Elevate Her Co. I was also able to do tabling from 1-2 pm.
I was able to see my mentee and we complete a number of activities. She missed Take Me Through There: Spelman Lane, so we completed those activities. We also did the St. Patrick's Day word search and the Women's History Month worksheet!
I was able to go to our Take Me Through There: Spelman Lane Event with our mentees! We sadly could not bring them to Spelman, so we had to switch it up and do a virtual tour with some fun activities and prizes!
I was able to hang out with my mentee and complete the St. Patrick's day reading activity!
I was able to see my mentee in her science class while they did their experiment. They are learning about the different types of magnets and were able to create an electromagnet with a battery, wire, and nail. It was super cool and lots of fun. For the last few minutes we were able to catch up with each other and talk about my spring break, what I missed, and how testing is going!
I was able to see my mentee and help her complete her school work in reading. School always comes first so while we sadly did not get to do our activity, her teacher was elated by how much work she completed why we were together!
I was able to hang out with my mentee today in the library for the bookstore. Her along with one of her friends saw so many tempting things to buy. As a mentor, I, of course, made sure she got a book along with the other cool things she bought. We also got matching necklaces! Overall, we had lots of fun today.
