Kiara Minter

During my time volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama, I spent about two months working closely with children from a variety of backgrounds, many of whom faced difficult circumstances. Through daily interaction, I was able to build meaningful relationships with the kids by supporting them in activities, offering encouragement, and being a consistent, positive presence. This experience helped me better understand the impact that patience, empathy, and genuine care can have on a child’s confidence and growth.

I also developed strong connections with the staff, whose dedication to providing a safe and supportive environment was evident in everything they did. Volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club was something I truly looked forward to each day, and it became a rewarding part of my routine. Overall, the experience strengthened my appreciation for community service and reinforced the importance of building trust and relationships when working with others.

It was fun to do sort and make baskets for those in needs. There were a lot of great donations so the baskets looked great.

I enjoyed this experience very much. While being there for service we sorted & wrapped up brand new gifts for children in foster care or in permanent homes.

For this service event we sorted through clothes & repackaged socks for families in need.

Went on a walk with great people to help with hunger cause.
