This is the second time that I volunteered for PSOA at student fall visit day. I had such a great time!
I had a great time volunteering for PSOA at student fall visit day!
I was so impressed with the efficiency of the Oxford Food Pantry! There were many volunteers, some being students too. I helped bag carts of groceries for customers, stock shelves, and organize the non-perishable items. The volunteers in charge constantly thanked us for all of our help which was much appreciated, and I got to know so many of the students who were also volunteering! I will definitely be back to volunteer again in the Fall since I had a good time and I was kept busy.
I really enjoyed getting to spend some much needed time with the pups at the Oxford Animal Resource Center and take them outside on such a beautiful, sunny day! Damien was such a sweetheart and one of my favorite dogs. I got to take Damien out to the dog park and we made friends, spent time in the sun, and played fetch.
This year, I had the honor of serving as a project leader for the Ole Miss Big Event. My group consisted of around twenty volunteers, and our project site was Oxford High School. I split the volunteers up into groups, and we tackled the front, sides, and courtyard of the High School. Our job was to unravel bells of hay, and level each bell of haystack out among each one of the trees. Because we had so many volunteers on our project, we were finished within an hour! Everyone did a magnificent job considering how big the High School was. What took us a little over an hour working with hundreds of bells would have taken the project host men several days. Since they have to work on all of the other schools in the district, this actually would have taken them weeks to do. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to help out!
