It was nice learning about new ways to serve my community. I learned that the founder of Keep Cherokee Beautiful has an owl conservation and rehab center, and the trash we picked up attracts rodents. The number one reason owls come to her rehab center is by getting hit by cars trying to catch the rodents. It was nice learning the trash we picked up had a personal reason behind it, and I liked knowing I made difference helping the owls avoid danger.
