For my experience, I volunteered at the My Sister's House location of Atlanta Missions as a childcare volunteer for children ages 0-6 years, with the Tiny Tummy Trust Organization. I learned immensely about how to care for younger children and how to provide for their needs. I was so grateful to be able to provide childcare for these wonderful mothers, so that they could enjoy their night at the fashion show. The entire experience was so enjoyable, and I definitely want to volunteer again!

I worked morning culinary in the kitchen at Open Hand, preparing cookies to be baked in the oven. I was able to unpacking, place cookies on a baking sheet, and put them on a rolling tray to be baked in the oven. I made over 1900 oatmeal raisin cookies by myself.
I served un housed men, women, and children food at the Salvation Army. It was a very eye opening experience as to how blessed I am to be attending Spelman College.
We worked out in the garden as a group. Two of us, including myself, pruned down plants so that their seeds could be harvested and the plants could be used for other things. I pruned 3 different varieties of rosemary and one lavender plant.
During this volunteering session, I help Ms. Schley with drying out hibiscus flowers for tea and a berry that is used to make wine.
This was my first time volunteering in the garden. What I did to help was sort through seeds and separate them from their seed pods.
