I had a great session talking to the kids about what respect means to them and how to show respect to adults and peers. I believe the kids learned a lot and will be able to apply this lesson in the future.
I had a fantastic session with the kids discussing attitudes and how to control their emotions. We're going to play a Jeopardy-like game called Factile to engage them and help them expressways to manage their emotions and attitudes. We had many great discussions and had a lot of fun!
I had a wonderful time discussing goals and success with the children. We handed out note cards and asked the kids to write down their goals and what success means to them. After that, we formed a circle and encouraged them to share what they had written as well as our own thoughts. We had some great conversations!
We began with the leaders distributing materials and reviewing safety regulations to the students. During the cleanup, I really enjoyed picking up trash and witnessing how much cleaner my community had become. We engaged in conversations, played music to keep our spirits up, and interacted with people from the community. It was an amazing experience that brought AUC students closer together. Following this event, I felt motivated to continue collaborating with them to help improve my community. I posted the latest update stating we received 2 extra hours of community service.
