Managed the free cider table at Uptown Market.
Handled the free apple cider stand and cleaned up at the Monroe Street Farmer's Market.
I worked at the Monroe Street FreshFarm Market. I helped put out the signs, SNAP transactions with visitors, and performed customer counts. Being able to work at different markets allows me to explore different parts of D.C. I've never been to.
I worked at a different market, at Dupont Circle, and set up the cider stall. I helped passed out warm cider, and give information to people about donating. It was really cool to see how lively the market was because of its size. I'm glad I was able to work the last weekend of the Thanksgiving Food Drive!
We set up the cider stalls and and helped load up a church's food from the market. It was a lot! It was very fun working at a new market and gaining more confidence in speaking to different people!
It was very fun passing out free cider, but also giving out information to people about how to donate. It was heartwarming to see people coming to the market to donate, so everyone this Thanksgiving are able to eat.
It was a new and interesting experience! Knowing that the effort we put in will be helpful to many women and girls made it even more fun.
It was really fun to get back into gardening. I was in the environmental club in high school, but hadn't done any volunteering last year since I was getting used to be a college student. Now that I have adjusted, I want to volunteer more and contribute to making the Earth healthier and safer.
