Sorting donated food to help make bags for kids in the community showed me how small tasks can have a big impact on families in need. I enjoyed being part of something that directly supports children and helps ensure they have access to basic necessities. This experience reminded me of the importance of community support and working together to address food insecurity.
Helping in the 4th grade classroom at McNair Elementary showed me how important patience and adaptability are, especially when supporting a substitute teacher. I enjoyed interacting with the students, helping them stay focused, and seeing how much they benefit from encouragement and individual attention. This experience helped me better understand the challenges in classrooms and the importance of being present and supportive in educational spaces.
Sorting donated clothes for children and adults in the family market showed me how important organization is in making resources accessible to those in need. I appreciated being able to contribute to something that helps people find clothing with dignity and ease. This experience reinforced the impact of community efforts in meeting basic needs beyond just food.
I enjoyed helping cheer on the runners at the Running of the Balls today! Volunteering there was fun. The lights were very pretty.
