On Thursday October 29th, I attended the STRIVE Power Circle. At Power Circle, the topic “Attention is the New Currency,” Dr. Pair & Mr. Heat listed some attention wasters like certain people and social media. They also asked questions that further enabled the discussion as they drove their main point of focusing our attention on things that serve our future selves.

Today I attended the STRIVE kickoff hosted by Dr. Pair and Mr. Hamlin. At the kickoff they introduced other campus resources like a lawyer, counselor, entrepreneur, Dean Smith, and Ms. Mckinney. In addition, they mentioned three main components such as ElevateU, Power Circles, and STRIVE Academy as well as what those were and when they would be happening.
On Wednesday August 26th, I helped Dr. Pair and Mr. Hamlin at the SSE Carnival at the STRIVE table. There I met a range of students from dual enrollment, first years, second years, and students who had been attending the college for over three years. I told all those who came to the table about the STRIVE Program and prompted them to attend the STRIVE kickoff.
On Tuesday August 25th, I attended the TRiO kickoff. At the kickoff, Mr. Austin and Ms. Bolton, talked about what TRiO was and some of the events that would be hosted during the semester. There was also some ice breakers where we played bingo and were able to talk with our table mates.
I ended the REFRESH meeting on Thursday August 13th at 11am. At the meeting Ms. Kim, Mr. Elio, and Ms. Chantia went over the academic and program requirements for the Promise Scholarship. They also informed us of some slight changes that were happening.
On Wednesday August 5th, I attended the LAUNCH Orientation as a FAM leader and speaker. I presented the Academic Requirements with my group to the incoming Promise Scholars. After I was done presenting I helped volunteer by serving food and connecting with the new scholars. After lunch was over, I helped the scholars get to the sessions they needed to attend and helped during the close out of orientation.
On May 4, 2026 I attended the end of semester Zoom meeting. In the meeting, scholarship requirements, GroupMe, and using GivePulse were discussed.
On April 11th, I attended a baseball game where PGCC played CCBC Catonsville. This was one of the first baseball games I’ve been too, and PGCC played well. They ended up winning 10 - 0 & the game ended early
From listening to the Mini Session on Wednesday, March 25, I learned some new tips & tricks on getting an internship or job in the career field I want. The tip that was most helpful to me was using Owl Careers to apply internships so I can experience early on and not wait until after college to do so.
