I completed virtual and in-person Promise Leader training, where I introduced myself and learned how to work with others as a team. I learned about my responsibilities as a Promise Leader and was placed into a FAM group. With my group members, I helped create and present presentations at the Promise Launch events on August 5th and August 28th. On August 28th, I also served as a panelist and spoke with the new Promise Scholars about my experiences.
It was the SS&E Homecoming Tailgate and I received a gift bag with a shirt, hand sanitizer, a clip, and a portable charger. Received two meal tickets, one for a meal from the food truck and another for shaved ice. Played games like hop scotch and connect four.
Discussed how to properly format an email when sending or asking about important information. Then, we went over scenarios where we had to figure out which one is most likely to be used. An email should have a name, a proper subject line(what the email is for or about), a proper greeting, ending, and your student id. We also went over how to do the same thing when it comes to leaving a voicemail. Leave a name, number, and reason for why you're calling. Finally, we went over how to properly handle a situation in a mature way rather than the alternative which was usually not as nice or formal.
We discussed the different opportunities that PGCC provides when it comes to scholarships, internships, and study abroad options. We learned more about studying abroad because a few people didn't know that PGCC offers those options. We went over the more important details of building and adding to a resume for any job or your job of choice.
