Today's presentation helped me better understand the difference between everyday stress and burnout. I learned how important it is to recognize warning signs such as feeling constantly overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or losing motivation. After the presentation, I feel very confident in my ability to recognize when stress is becoming burnout. I also feel more comfortable seeking support when needed instead of allowing stress to negatively affect my well-being. Overall, I found the presentation very helpful because it reminded me of the importance of self-care, setting boundaries, and maintaining a healthy balance between my academic and personal responsibilities.

Attending the GivePulse Demo Training was a valuable personal enrichment experience. I learned how to navigate the platform, search for volunteer opportunities, register for events, and properly record and verify my service hours. The training helped me feel more confident using GivePulse and showed me the importance of accurately tracking my community involvement. I can use what I learned to stay organized, discover new ways to serve, and maintain a clear record of my volunteer experiences.
This meeting was a helpful refresh on the Promise Scholarship requirements. We reviewed what is expected of us to maintain the scholarship, including staying on track academically, completing the required number of credits, maintaining the required GPA, and meeting with an academic advisor. It was a good opportunity to revisit the requirements, ask questions, and make sure I understand what I need to do to remain eligible for the scholarship.
My experience volunteering as a FAM Leader for the Scholarship Launch gave me the opportunity to support other students while developing my own leadership and communication skills. On August 5, I volunteered for seven hours and presented during the event. Throughout the day, I also assisted with the Scholarship Launch and helped provide scholarship recipients with information about their scholarship requirements and expectations. I returned to volunteer on August 28 for an additional 4.5 hours. During this event, I presented again, participated on a panel, and assisted with the Scholarship Launch as a whole. Being part of the panel gave me another opportunity to communicate with students and share helpful information and experiences.
Overall, both volunteer experiences helped me become more comfortable speaking in front of others and working as part of a team. I enjoyed being able to contribute to the scholarship program and help other students feel more informed and prepared. Serving as a FAM Leader reinforced the importance of leadership, communication, and supporting students within my college community.
During this in-person Promise Leader session, we focused on practicing and preparing our presentations. My group had the opportunity to go through our presentation, work on our delivery, and make improvements before presenting to the incoming Promise Scholarship students. Practicing helped me become more comfortable with the material and strengthened my public speaking confidence. This session was especially helpful because it allowed us to work together in person and make sure we were prepared to successfully deliver our presentation.
During this virtual training session, we continued preparing our group projects and presentations. We discussed how we could communicate our information clearly and make our presentation useful and engaging for incoming Promise Scholarship students. Through this process, I gained more experience with planning, teamwork, and problem solving. I also felt more prepared and confident about representing the Promise Leader program.
During this virtual training session, we continued developing the skills needed to be successful Promise Leaders. We worked within our groups to develop our projects and organize our ideas. This gave me an opportunity to practice communicating with my teammates, contributing ideas, and completing responsibilities as part of a group. I learned that being an effective leader also means being able to listen, collaborate, and support the people you are working with.
This in-person Promise Leader training focused on team bonding and getting to know one another. We participated in activities that helped us learn everyone's names, connect with each other, and become more comfortable as a team. I enjoyed having the opportunity to interact with the other Promise Leaders in person because it helped us build stronger relationships. The experience showed me how important teamwork and communication are when working toward a shared goal.
During this virtual session, we continued learning about our roles as Promise Leaders and what it takes to effectively lead and support other students. We also began working in groups and discussing ideas for projects and presentations. Working with my group allowed me to practice collaboration, share ideas, and listen to different perspectives. This session helped me become more comfortable working with my fellow Promise Leaders.
During this virtual FAM Promise Leader training session, I learned more about what it means to be a Promise Leader and the responsibilities that come with the role. We discussed important skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and supporting other students. This session helped me better understand what would be expected of me throughout the summer and how I could contribute to creating a welcoming experience for incoming Promise Scholarship students.
