About

Steck Valley Greenbelt is a hidden gem of a hiking trail in NW Austin.  Volunteers get the satisfaction of giving back and of course, an AWESOME It's My Park Day t-shirt designed by local artists! We will provide tools and gloves but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE and wear work appropriate clothing. We'll meet at the Steck Trailhead (8403 Steck Ave) and get started right at 9am. Thank you so much for joining us on It's My Park Day!

Last year we got an APF grant to clear the trail (thank you!), which has greatly improved access and visitability, and for last fall's IMPD we cleaned out quite a bit of brush, so we are moving on to the next phases of the plan, which is invasives management. The NWACA Parks Committee is hosting this IMPD clean-up with three primary goals:

1) Invasive species removal (weed wrenching and girdling, nandina berry bagging)

2) Brush Removal (both wrenched invasives and other existing brush from previous storms)

3) Trash pickup (bagging any trash along the trail or at the trailheads)
