I had a great time with Fallon! He loved going to the park and being able to run around.

For my Lifeline Animal Project, I participated in the "Dog for a Day" program, which gives people the chance to spend a day with a shelter dog. I was matched with a sweet, black dog named Lulu Lemen—yes, like the clothing brand! She was 7 years old, which is around 46–47 in dog years for a medium-sized dog. From the moment I met her, she was incredibly loving and gentle. I noticed that she had a cough, which I later found out was due to a health condition. Her cough would come up mostly when she walked too much, got too hot, or became overly excited.

Despite her illness, Lulu had such a warm and joyful personality. We bonded quickly, and honestly, I didn’t want to bring her back at the end of the day. I became very attached to her and was sad to say goodbye. Spending time with her reminded me how important love and attention are to animals in shelters. I had an amazing experience and would definitely do it again. It’s something I’ll always remember.
