My experience volunteering with Salvation Army Atlanta was very rewarding. I volunteered with my Spelman sisters and other students within the Atlanta community, serving meals to people experiencing homelessness. Giving back to the people within the shelter was a very humbling experience, and I can’t wait to volunteer again.
It felt great to give back to those who had helped us during the war.
Friendly Staff and Nice residents at the homeless shelter. However, it took them a while to assign task and had us sitting around most of time.
The people were very nice that we served. It did seem a bit unorganized, but overall I enjoyed engaging with the people I served. I didn’t feel as active because they had us sitting around doing nothing for some time.
When volunteering at the Salvation Army to help serve meals it was a great learning experience. I got to serve food to the community who needed it the most.
