I volunteered at Explore UT with WIALD (Women in Aerospace Engineering Leadership and Development). We had a table set up where kids and adults could come and work on designing, building and launching a straw rocket. My favorite part of volunteering for this event was being able to talk to people about what it is like to be an Aerospace Engineering student and helping the kids design their rockets.
I volunteered with WIALD (Women in Aerospace Leadership and Development) during Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. We did an activity involving designing, building and launching straw rockets. My favorite part of this experience was being a able to talk to younger girls about how it is to be an Aerospace Engineering student and encouraging them to be interested in STEM.
I tutored a high school student on math. I helped better understand the basic concepts of Pre-Calculus. My favorite part was seeing him actually learning and being motivated to do his homework.
Great experience. Helped put together care packages for the homeless and it was great meeting new people.
It was a great experience to volunteer at the garden. I helped to take tape off of boxes so they could be used to cover the ground with mulch, I watered the plants and helped clean up an old bed plot.
I had a great time volunteering. I helped inspecting dry and canned foods and cleaning them before they were put in crates to be shipped.
One of the best volunteer experiences I have had. I helped put together meals for the homeless and less fortunate in Austin. The event was set up like a cafeteria. Volunteers would go through the line holding food boxes and get in line again after getting all the meal components. The finished boxes were then taken to the homeless and families in need. I did the standing in line part and helped clean up after the event
Great volunteer experience with friends. This student organization consists of members going to the Texas Intensive English Program location in west campus and helping international students practice their english. We go every week on Wednesdays.
