I enjoyed being the Student Leader for the Women of Color Book Club for the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center; this Fall semester we read "You Bring the Distant Near" by Mitali Perkins.
I enjoyed being able to create art for the multiple locations of the Purple Pantry.
It was so fun recording children's books around the Main Campus Student Center, specifically in the Intercultural Affairs Office, the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, the Dr. Peel LGBTQ+ Center, and the Women and Gender Office. I hope that my stutters showed that no one is perfect and the messages from the authors inspired their literary journey.
It was a great volunteer experience to combine my passion for inspiring young girls and assisting with food insecurity. It was apparent that the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected them, so I hope to volunteer with them again, and assist in anyways they need to get back on track!
It was a great way to spend my Saturday morning, serving the surrounding Greenville community!
I had so much fun being apart of a two person panel that spoke to Junior and Seniors in the International Baccalaureate program. We discussed courses, Covid, connections, and answered all their questions. It was so great to be able to share some of my wisdom with them!
