On March 22, I volunteered with the BLISS Mentorship program at the Harland Boys and Girls Club. During the community service opportunity, we split the girls into three groups, and I was assisting one group. We played a game of Jeopardy which asked various questions about black women's history in honor of Women's History Month. We then explained the importance of Women's History Month to the girls and stressed the fact that each of them can achieve greatness.

On March 8th, I volunteered with the BLISS Mentorship program at the Harland Boys and Girls Club. During the community service opportunity, I was the leader of a discussion about violence in a group of 4 girls. Since these girls are growing up in the West End, it is important that they are being taught about how to avoid using violence and instead utilize other effective forms of expression. I enjoyed this experience because I was able to form a connection with the girls, and I could tell that our conversation brightened their day.
For this community service event, I was able to assist in creating over 100 care bags that were to be donated to a local youth center. I enjoyed this experience because not only did it allow me to connect with the girls who live in my dorm, but it was nice to write notes the the recipients of the bag. It was nice to know that I took part in making someone's day by giving back.
