During my 6 hours of volunteering at the National Society Leadership and Success Inductions, I assisted with various tasks, including pick-ups, setting up tables, arranging food and beverages, hosting guests, and helping with post-event clean-up. This experience taught me the importance of attention to detail and teamwork, as I worked closely with others to ensure the event ran smoothly. I found that being organized and responsive to guests' needs was crucial in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. One key takeaway was the value of communication, particularly when coordinating tasks with fellow volunteers. While I received positive feedback about the event's hospitality and organization, I recognized the need for more efficient time management during clean-up. In the future, I aim to contribute to a more streamlined clean-up process, ensuring tasks are completed promptly. Overall, this experience helped me develop organizational and interpersonal skills that will be valuable in both volunteer and professional settings.

I had a great time volunteering at the garden's workday! The event was very welcoming to all skill levels, and I learned a lot about gardening, from pulling weeds to spreading mulch. It’s a wonderful, peaceful space to connect with nature, slow down, and learn new things. The team was friendly and patient, making sure everyone felt involved. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to spend time outdoors and learn something new!
Hosting the orientation was a valuable experience that helped me grow in confidence and leadership. I reviewed all necessary materials beforehand to ensure I was prepared to guide new members effectively. During the session, I stayed engaged, encouraged participation, and made sure everyone felt welcomed. Reflecting on the experience, I feel I communicated clearly and created a positive environment, but I also see room to improve by finding more interactive ways to keep participants engaged. Overall, it was a meaningful opportunity to develop my skills and support the NSLS community.
