Successful day of door-knocking! Canvassing in a less affluent community was both rewarding and eye-opening. It was discouraging to hear residents repeat misinformation spread by Trump and associate those claims with voting Republican down the entire ballot. Still, many were open to hearing our perspectives as representatives of the Democratic Party. Today reinforced how disparities in education and access to reliable political information continue to impact civic engagement within Black communities.

Great event, I engaged in writing note cards with positive afftermations we made 704 sandwich bags total!

We put pencils, pends and deodorant in backpacks for young students

I had the opportunity to volunteer for the Student Success Through the Gates workshop. I was able to give advice to the incoming freshmen and hopefully support them in their transition to Spelman.

I overall enjoyed being a Spelbound Sister, I look forward to getting to know her more!
