During our community service at the church garden, I worked alongside my fellow Aggies to harvest mustard greens, collard greens, and cabbages. We organized the vegetables into two-pound bundles to distribute to the church community while learning helpful gardening tips and techniques. We also applied a couple of coats of paint to the church doors, helping care for a space that serves others. This experience showed me how teamwork and simple acts of service can make a meaningful difference. I enjoyed co
During community service at the church garden, I worked with my fellow Aggies to pull weeds, water plants, and prepare garden beds for future planting. We learned how proper spacing and consistent care help vegetables grow. Working together reminded me that maintaining a garden requires patience and ongoing effort. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to a project that provides fresh food for the church community while strengthening my teamwork skills and learning more about gardening.
Helping welcome runners and get race day started was such a rewarding experience because I was able to play a key role in creating a positive and organized environment from the very beginning. Assisting with registration, packet pickup, and checking in participants taught me how to stay efficient, detail-oriented, and welcoming under pressure, especially when managing bib assignments and distributing materials. I also enjoyed interacting with runners and helping ease any pre-race nerves. Transitioning to the finish line after the race began was just as meaningful, as I helped prepare medals and post-race food while celebrating each finisher’s accomplishment. Handing out medals allowed me to share in their excitement and sense of achievement, making the entire experience feel full-circle and impactful.
At this event, I wrote 4 thank-you cards to the Honors College faculty to express appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
At our bake sale for the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro, I helped raise money by greeting supporters and sharing why the cause mattered while selling a variety of sweet treats. The experience was rewarding because I saw how something as simple as baking and serving desserts could bring people together to support women in the community

Honors Day of Service at Jackson Middle School
I participated in classroom makeovers to help welcome students into a refreshed learning environment for the new school year. My work included painting walls and floorboards, cleaning and organizing drawers, and preparing school materials so the classrooms would feel clean, welcoming, and renewed for the middle schoolers.
