About
The Sister Carmen Thrift store is a vital part of Sister Carmen. Sales from the thrift store exceeded $722,000 last fiscal year. After expenses to run the store, the rest goes straight back to Sister Carmen Programs. Also, our thrift store offers most of our items at a lower price, which is important to the community we serve. Further, our Advocate Program can provide vouchers for some of our participants who cannot afford things they need at no cost, such as tents and sleeping bags for our unhoused population or perhaps a whole “set up” for new apartment ie: furniture, dishes, clothing, anything a person or family made need when they are finally able to move to their first stable apartment living from being homeless or living in a car.
