This was a well-run aid station. Leslie, the captain, was great at directing all of us, and it was clear that the earlier shift had gone well and we were able to better manage everything. It was a very slow shift (until the very end), as the runners were spread far apart. I don’t think that all 15 of us were necessary - it became crowded towards the end when the next group of volunteers arrived (at 8PM). Overall though, a great experience with amazing runners and fellow volunteers!
So blessed to be able to experience the Leadville community year after year either as a runner crew pacer cyclist or just a spectator breathing in the air. I am so glad so blessed to have experienced every perspective the Leadville race series Stafford I will always come back brings Me so much joy
I enjoyed marking key intersections with glow sticks. I hope to be able to do course marking (ribbon, pin flags), prior to the race next year.
Really enjoyed the experience of volunteering to help the ultra athletes at Leadville on the final leg of the 100 mile run. Also, enjoyed working with other individuals that enjoy volunteering and have a passion for running.
