I enjoy being there with the kids and finding new ways to encourage them is probably my biggest takeaway.
Today I assisted the littles with their homework, including spelling, pronunciation, and math. We also enjoyed various activities, such as crafting friendship bracelets and playing with hula hoops. It was an overall amazing experience to creating memories with the students!
Had a great time with the kids at YELLS. I helped them complete some homework and other reading/spelling activities. Then we had some fun playing Just Dance and basketball.
Today I took part in the mentoring program, actively engaging with both bigs and littles through hands-on activities. This allowed me to connect with them and gain insight into their individual interests. It was an overall wonderful experience to work with students in all ages.

The day I went to the orientation they provided me with information regarding what is to be expected in program. How I should interact with the children and the appropriate attire to wear. In addition of the layout of each classroom. Overall it was a great experience.
It was so fun working with the elementary students! The pod system and schedule was super understandable and efficient and the activities were stimulating, entertaining, and educational. The environment is friendly and welcoming. All the staff members and other volunteers I met definitely exhibited care for all the children and their jobs!
