It was good to connect with Cultivate once again in the year for one of their different program "YardBusters". I had worked with them for another program called "Carry-out Caravan" during the Spring. All volunteers showed their skills on gardening, weeding, and yard-cleaning while helping the senior community members and clients of Cultivate. The senior members had a continuous check on us and how we are doing and provided everyone with good care. Lastly, it was so sweet of one of the senior member to treat every one of us with a bunch of homemade hot-cookies which made the day!

The Cultivate Yardbusters event allowed me to connect with the community in a hands-on, personal way. I was able to engage in conversation with the clients and learn their personal history while working on their yards. The physical labor allowed me to see an immediate impact of my service on the community, which was fulfilling.
