Went very well - need to have at minimum of 20 volunteers, I only had 15. Other things to add to the listed needed for the station; rack to clean up and funnels to help pour Gatorade and Water better.
Why oh why did you out 125 S Jefferson as the location if the event?
Just arrived home after a long morning. Arrived at 5:00am to find our stuff being dropped off at the same time which was fine. We were told they added a Cliff Shot table to our Fluid Station #3. Got our tub out to found we were missing our walkies, which arrived at approx 6:30am. Another item missing was stir sticks for the Gatorade and a knife to cut open the water jug to make a pitcher to pour Gatorade. Other way took volunteers way too long. I was also missing 6 or 7 volunteers and most arrived way past 6 am. Some not until after the race began. Made it difficult to be prepared for the race. The volunteers I did have worked very hard and were easy to work with. No one maned the medicine tent since I was so short handed. Our station had plenty of tables delivered but 3 were broken and could not be used and one even broke during the race. Having the extra tables was a huge help since we could not be prepared enough being short staffed. My volunteers asked to be contacted about the fall and next years 1/2 marathons. They would like to work the same location. I loved the band even though I could not hear my radio at all. Can you please event the band to other events and again next year? They made the runners and volunteers laugh and enjoy the race. That was an added plus of the day. Having Port a potties right at our space was a nice thing too. Lunch after the cleanup was great too. My volunteers were pleasantly surprised. All and all not too bad of a day.
